About
Humble and homegrown, from a Hunter Valley timber yard
Compton Projects’ roots run deep in the Hunter Valley Region. The Compton family began trading in 1915 as FH Compton & Sons Building. Compton & Sons operated from a humble timber yard, supplying building materials, paint and hardware to the local community, before moving into commercial and residential construction.
The company has since ceased being involved in the construction industry, however a new company has evolved, eventually becoming Compton Projects in 2012. Despite a change in direction and focus, the highly respected ethos and values of FH Compton & Sons remain unchanged.
Today Managing Director David Compton heads Compton Projects. Servicing Commercial, Strata, State Government and Residential clients, David – together with his team of trade professionals – is committed to delivering quality projects to the Hunter Valley and greater Newcastle community, that contribute to the growth and prosperity of the region.
A licensed builder and accredited building surveyor, David’s comprehensive knowledge of planning, building codes, and current and future legislation of the Newcastle Hunter Valley local government areas, ensures an optimum outcome on every project.
Being Hunter Valley born and bred, Compton Projects is a company with strong local community ties. Compton has managed a number of key community/not for profit construction projects including seniors living facilities, heritage landmarks and church buildings (including the recent upgrade of the much-treasured Christ Church Cathedral).
